On the early minutes of 28 March 2026, Iran Nuclear Regulatory Authority was notified by the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant that on 27 March at approximately 23:40 Iran Standard Time (IRST), a projectile struck the premises of the power plant due to the aerial and missile attacks by the Israel regime and the United States of America. As of this moment, no damage to the facility or injuries to individuals have been reported and the condition of plant is normal. The Bushehr NPP is in operating condition with a large amount of nuclear material and damage to the facility could result in a nuclear disaster. Also, it should be emphasized that such thoughtless actions contravene CHARTER OF THE UNITED NATIONS, The IAEA’s Statute and also the principles of international law. No military action should put at risk safety of NPPs and their operating staff, who must be able to carry out their vital work in safe conditions.
